Hyundai of St Augustine Sets March Sales Record
Jacksonville Hyundai dealer, Hyundai of St Augustine, today announced an all-time sales record for the month of March. The dealership reports their highest volume month since opening in May of 2008.
The all new Hyundai Sonata and Tucson helped pave the way for the record setting month for the Jacksonville Hyundai dealer and those across the nation. Hyundai Motor Cars is also reporting record sales for both the first quarter of the year and for the month of March.
Florida Hyundai shoppers are clearly connected with the brand’s value, helping Hyundai of St Augustine sell 79 new Hyundai cars in March, outpacing their previous record of 54 during the Cash for Clunkers craze. Leading the way were 36 sales of new Sonata sedans (beating their previous record of 17) and 7 Tucson crossover SUVs (beating their previous record of 5). Hyundai of St Augustine also reported that inventory was in such high demand, sales representatives had to pre-sell inbound inventory before it arrived on their lot.
The new Hyundai models have been a major game changer for Hyundai this past year. On a year-over-year basis, Sonata was up 52.6 percent, Tucson was up 129.1 percent, Santa Fe was up 62.8 percent, and Genesis was up 31.9 percent, marking the 9th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gain for Genesis. The automotive industry can only expect to see more of the same from Hyundai with the recent introduction of its second and third iterations of the 2011 Sonata being unveiled on the floor of the NY Auto Show. Hyundai also introduced the Sonata Hybrid, the company’s first U.S. hybrid, which gets up to 39 mpg on the highway, using breakthrough lithium-polymer battery technology.
